Lets talk about marriage for a minute..
When I got married I thought for sure it would be a fairy tale all of the time. I mean, how cool is it to have a sleepover every night with your best friend right? I thought things would just come easily, and that nothing could break us. I was wrong though, well about the fairy tale all the time part.
Marriage can be hard y’all. It turns out that sometimes things don’t go as planned, and you have to learn to overcome them as a team. There are some things that try to break you, and sometimes they do but as a unit you figure out how to put things back together and it makes you stronger. So it’s not a fairy tale everyday, but it is one of the best things you’ll ever do.
It turns out, those sleepovers with your best friend can be pretty fun. It also turns out that you will forever have a shoulder to cry on when things go wrong, and someone to call when something exciting happens. Marriage means learning to be a little selfless, and learning how to compromise (which in my house normally means my husband watching bad reality TV shows with me to get a little time in).
Ashleigh and Matt have been married two years, and I’ve gotten to watch their relationship grow from the beginning. It has not been without the hard times, but they ALWAYS figure out how to make it work. And that is love.
