If you’ve ever thought about doing an Arizona destination elopement in the White Tank Mountains – this ones for you.
Ally and Shayne traveled all the way to the White Tank Mountains in Arizona from Canada to say I do in an intimate ceremony. When we first chatted she shared that their family comes here for the winters and that she loved the idea of a small ceremony with the people closest to her near a big cactus and a glowy sunset. Arizona can’t be beat in the sunset department so I feel like we nailed that!
I personally feel as though destination elopements allow for the story to be told a little more authentically. There’s no rush – the timeline allows for the moments to flow as naturally as they happen. Let me tell you their story 🙂
Getting Ready

Ally and Shayne got ready at their families Arizona house. Details were something that was very important to Ally as she had many heirlooms of people she loved – she told me their stories with so much love and care. Then she opted to do a first look with her dad on the patio, it was SO sweet.

Both the bride and groom spent time getting their sweet boy dressed for the big day (after a quick nap so he was ready to party with mom and dad).

We headed off to ceremony with their family and dog – side note please ALWAYS bring your pets. There is nothing cuter than a dog in a tie bandana witnessing his parents saying I do.
CEREMONY
You will see it was one of the windiest days of the year here in Arizona. The whole family handled it like champs and we were able to get these two married.

After the ceremony we ventured out into the White Tank Regional Park for some bride and groom portraits. Not even the 30 mph winds could stop us from celebrating these three finally sharing the same last name.
BRIDAL PORTRAITS

Reception
This is one of the many reasons elopements are a great option. We didn’t have to rush the bridal portraits, and once we were done we headed to the reception. Their family had a space ready for them at a local restaurant, where they shared their first dances under the twinkling lights.
They ate and drank with their closest loved ones without a schedule. There was just time to be with each other and to celebrate without any expectation – and that was the point.

Weddings don’t have to be grand if you don’t want them to be. They can be meaningful, intimate, and whatever you want it to be. There is no wrong way to marry your best friend.
