You guys aren’t ready for this adventurous elopement in the Redwoods! Kristen and Caleb decided on a destination elopement after COVID trying to change their plans. Traveling to the Redwoods made the most sense because they are adventurous at heart, and love to be outdoors. When they asked me to document their day in Northern California it was an immediate YES! I was raised in the bay area of California, and most of my loved ones are still there. So the plan was for me to shoot their big day, then to drive the 5 hours to my family home in CA. My heart was so full by the end of that weekend!
Kristen had an Air bnb to get ready in, and her sweet friends even decorated it with all things bride for her big day. They all took turns helping her get ready, and there was no shortness of tears! Then I took off to the ceremony spot, and was BLOWN AWAY by the enormous redwood trees that lined the road . Kristen was walked down the aisle by her dad, and Caleb shared a few sweet tears seeing his future bride coming towards him. They had a short, sweet ceremony followed by family photos in the woods.
After that came the bridal portraits. Kristen’s sweet friends stuck around to throw flowers at them for one of our photos. And one may or may not have pegged our bride and groom a little too hard with roses 😉 We explored massive fallen tree trunks, and miles of the greenest fern I’ve ever seen. The trails were endless, and it was quite possibly the most adventurous spot I’ve gotten to document at. It was EPIC!
I’ll be seeing these two next year for a bigger party in AZ, but I just couldn’t wait to share this love story in the woods of Northern California. The pictures tell a story of a love that COVID couldn’t touch!
